Yes we do! All daycare guests intending to join in on Social Daycare are required to attend our Passport day which is held on Fridays every week. A Passport is not required for independent daycare.

Our goals during this process:

• Evaluate social play eligibility – Ensuring your dog is comfortable and suited for group interactions.

• Assess recall skills – Measuring their responsiveness in stimulating environments.

• Build confidence & trust – Helping them feel secure and connected with our team.

This structured approach sets the foundation for a safe, enjoyable experience tailored to your dog’s needs. At the end of their stay we will send you a progress report with information on the type of daycare we will want them to attend moving forward.

We structure each day into four to five activity rotations, depending on the length of a guest’s stay.

Each rotation lasts 15 to 30 minutes, adjusting to the energy levels of our guests—some dogs play hard and tire quickly, while others pace themselves. Between sessions, we provide intentional rest breaks, allowing dogs to recharge and fully enjoy their next round of play or enrichment.

The rest periods are inside and each dog gets their own individual unit.

Our Dog Introduction Process

At Orchard Point Kennels, we take great care in introducing new dogs to our daycare groups to ensure a safe, positive experience for everyone.

• Gradual Introductions: We typically don’t introduce dogs to playgroups on their first day unless our team determines they are exceptionally comfortable and well-adjusted. This introductory period can last up to a day or so.

• Thoughtful Pairing: During this time, we observe your dog’s behavior and select potential playmates from our well-established daycare crew who have already been vetted and enjoy social play.

• Leashed Introductions: New dogs are introduced in our outdoor kennel space within the main daycare yard, with one of our team members present and the new dog on a leash for safety and comfort.

• Behavior Assessment: We look for calm, mellow reactions after the initial excitement of the potential playmate entering the yard. Our team observes closely to ensure neither dog is showing signs of fear or nervousness.

• Gradual Socialization: Once both dogs appear interested and comfortable, we allow them to sniff one another through the kennel barrier before moving to an open yard setting.

• Off-Leash Play: If both dogs display positive body language, like play bows and relaxed movements, we transition them to off-leash play on long lines for added safety.

• Introducing to Playgroups: When introducing new dogs to established playgroups, we start by having them play with a dog they’ve already met. This encourages the new dog to join in the fun and build confidence with the group.

At every step, our experienced team ensures your dog’s comfort, safety, and enjoyment while they build new friendships and have fun at Orchard Point Kennels!

If your dog is not yet fixed, they may have limited social opportunities and might not be able to interact with other dogs. However, our team has a variety of alternative activities that promote engagement and enrichment, ensuring your dog has a fun and rewarding experience in our independent daycare program.

The Enrichment Gym at Orchard Point Kennels is a structured, low-impact space where dogs engage in guided mental and physical challenges tailored to build confidence, reduce anxiety, and strengthen essential life skills. Unlike traditional play, which burns energy through excitement and movement, enrichment sessions are designed to stimulate your dog’s mind—helping them feel more fulfilled and better prepared for advanced training like agility or obedience work.

This space is where our Scent & Moving Puzzle, FitPaws, and Clicker Enrichment sessions take place. Whether your dog is working through problem-solving puzzles, practicing core body strength on FitPaws equipment, or learning new commands with positive reinforcement, each activity is designed to help them thrive in a calmer, more focused way.

Mental work can be just as exhausting (and more beneficial long-term) than hours of open play—and it helps build lasting confidence, focus, and trust.

You can purchase Rec Passes over the phone by calling 541-255-6040 or you can buy them in person upon pick-up/drop-off.

Please note: Card transactions for Rec Pass purchases incur a 4% service charge. Other preferred methods of payment are cash, check, and Venmo.

Rec passes can only be applied at check-out. When our team members bring your dog out, we'll check them out using any available Rec Passes on your GINGR account.

While we have other housing options for guests, crates have been our personal choice method for our own dogs. Through Rescue & Training experience, we've learned these important attributes about crates:

1. Safety and Security: A crate provides a safe and secure space for your dog. Especially when we're not around to supervise, like at night, or during a busy rotation period. It helps prevent accidents or injuries that could happen if your dog roams freely around the main-house.

2. Den-Like Comfort: Dogs are naturally den animals. A crate mimics a cozy, den-like environment, offering a space where your dog can retreat to relax, feel safe, and reduce anxiety.

3. Setting A Routine & Potty Training: Crates are a highly effective tool for creating a routine for their eating, sleeping, and potty habits. Dogs generally avoid things like soiling their sleeping areas, so a properly-sized crate encourages them to hold their bladder until they're let outside.

4. Prevents Destructive Behavior: When dogs are left unsupervised, they might engage in destructive behavior like chewing on furniture or shoes. A crate helps prevent this by keeping your dog contained and focused on appropriate toys, Kong's, treats, or rest.

We do not confirm any booking, without proof for the following immunizations:

- Bordetella

- Rabies

Feeding isn’t included in our standard daycare services, but we’re happy to accommodate it as an add-on! If your pup needs a meal during their stay, just email us ahead of time to arrange it. Each feeding is $5.
